Kinder Korner

This program is designed for children to participate in age appropriate activities within the ongoing Oktoberfest. This year it will be held on October 24th and 25th, and the hours of operation are from 7 - 10:00 PM.

In the past few years, there has been a concern for children attending the Oktoberfest with their parents. During the festival, there is dancing and bands performing. It was discovered that because there were no activities for the children to participate in, they found themselves running around the dance floor and into the adults that were dancing. In order to avoid a possible accident, it was decided that there needed to be somewhere for the children to be able to go. Banning children was not an option, because with the children came families and if children were not allowed, parents would be unable to attend. The solution this year in the Kinder Korner: This will be an area within the Oktoberfest for them to be able do dance, make crafts, have their face painted, and participate in a horse race.

Our goal is to implement a child safe area that allows children to participate in their own activities based on our annual Oktoberfest.

There will be adult volunteers which will supervise the kids and guide them through the activities.

Schedule:
7:00 - 8:15 Welcome, Crafts and Face Painting,
Volunteers at each table will assist children

8:15 - 8:30 Straighten up
Prepare children for dancing

8:30 - 9:00 Dancing:
* The Chicken Dance
* The Flying Dutchman

9:00 - 9:30 More craft Time

9:30 - 9:45 Stick Horse races

9::45 - 10:00 Finish up
